North Central Raleigh Neighborhood

North Central Raleigh is a major neighborhood just north of downtown. It is convenient to Meredith College, North Carolina State University Central Campus, and the Crabtree Valley Mall – the largest mall in the area.

Crabtree Valley Mall is a popular dining spot. Some of the mall’s most popular restaurants include Panera Bread, PF Chang’s China Bistro, The Cheesecake Factory, Flemmings Prime Steak and Bar, Kanki Japanese House of Steak and Sushi, and McCormick and Schmick’s.

Area residents looking to catch a good movie need only drive a few miles east on Interstate 440 to Currituck Drive. This shopping plaza is home to Regal Cinemas North Hills Stadium 14 movie theater. This large theater is popular among both area families and teens. Also in the vicinity is a large Target and a Starbucks.

The Carolina Country Club is one of the largest golf courses and country clubs in the area. The club is hugely popular with area residents and provides an excellent course fit for golfers at all experience levels. The country club also has tennis courts, swimming pools, and a fitness center.

Beautiful Pullen Park is located nearby and features trains, kiddie boats, and a popular carousel. Pullen Park is home to Theatre in the Park: Raleigh NC Performing Arts and Entertainment. Walking and bicycling are also popular activities at Pullen Park and centrally located William B. Umstead State Park. William B. Umstead Park is a more natural park with natural walking areas.

Nearby attractions include the NC Museum of Art, the Ridge Road Pool, the Raleigh Municipal Rose Garden, the JC Raulston Arboretum, and Gallery C, as well as the Wake County Wildlife Club.
