Woodlea Lakes is a large, sprawling neighborhood in the southern part of Greensboro, NC. Situated within heavy forests yet still close to urban development, this suburban environment is a quiet refuge from the busy city.

The large neighborhood consists primarily of single-family homes built in the National style. Area features include Rounda Lake Dam to the north, which creates the manmade Woodlea Lake. The Forest Apartments complex is on the north shore.

Its western boundary is created by S. Elm Eugene Street. This street intersects with Vandalia Street, and is the dividing point between E. Vandalia and W. Vandalia, the former being Woodlea Lakes’ southern border. E. Montecastle Drive makes up the majority of the northern border, though the area between it and Woodlea Ridge Court is also part of the neighborhood. The curve around Grassy Knoll Circle and Woodhill Lane forms the eastern boundary.

There are a handful of Christian churches to the south of Woodlea Lakes. To the southeast, Brown Recreation Center is perfect for outdoorsy visitors, with its half-mile walking/jogging trail, softball field, playground, and exercise room. It also has a gymnasium and event spaces for rent.

Heavy commercial development lines Industrial Avenue to the north. Stores in this area include home and construction supply fronts like Overhead Door Co. and New Home Building Supply.
