Despite being on the edge of the Greensboro city limits, Rotherwood is close to several services making health care and outdoor recreation easily accessible. To the north, the Kindred Hospital Greensboro is a full-scale hospital offering general, emergency and outpatient care services. Gillespie Park is a few minutes to the northwest and is one of two city-run golf courses. The Gillespie Golf Course is named for Revolutionary War Colonel Daniel Gillespie and is open daily from 8:30 A.M. until sunset.
