Steeped in old-fashioned Southern charm, Dilworth’s winding roads carry travelers past cottages, Queen Anne Victorians, and Colonial style homes, all nestled among mature trees. It’s easy to imagine the streetcar that once ran through this neighborhood rattling along the quiet streets in this historic neighborhood. Established in the 1890s, Dilworth Historic District is on the National Register of Historic Places and contains most of the neighborhood.

Located just one mile south of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina, Dilworth was the city’s first streetcar suburb. In the heart of this community is Latta Park, a charming park that was planned along with the neighborhood. Latta Park features a playground, a spray park, basketball courts, picnic areas, and walking paths. Dilworth is home to several boutiques and restaurants. It is also home to the Carolinas Medical Center, a large teaching hospital. Residents of Dilworth have easy access to the Lynx light rail service.
