The library is within walking distances of the residences along Hollowcrest Road, Hillbrook Road, and Inwood Drive.

Fairmount is only three miles from the Geddes Athletic Fields. Located at Grand Avenue and Fay Road, these fields include facilities for baseball, football, and soccer. A few more blocks east is the large Burnett Park off Grand Avenue. The park has a community swimming pool, athletic fields, tennis and basketball courts, and playground. It also is home to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.
