(hide neighborhood information)

Living in the Buffalo State neighborhood of the city of Buffalo is a claim that many people want to make. Located right on the edge of Delaware Park, residents have wide open spaces, fishing and golfing opportunities and miles of walking trails virtually in their backyards. The Scajaquada Expressway is very close to the Buffalo State neighborhood and in fact, part of this major thoroughfare passes through the neighborhood. This offers the residents optimum convenience in gaining access to all parts of the city. A short drive along this highway provides a quick way of reaching the downtown core for shopping or work.

Just across Rockwell Drive, which forms the southern boundary of the neighborhood, hospitals take up a full city block. The Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo is just to the north. With this close proximity, residents only have a short trip whenever they need medical attention.

Children who attend school in grades pre-Kindergarten to 8 can receive their education in their own neighborhood. The Campus West School, which is part of the Buffalo West School District, is situated on the corner of Rockwell Drive and Elmwood Avenue in the southeast corner.

While there are no restaurants or coffee shops in Buffalo State, there are numerous venues along Amherst Avenue to the north and Forest Avenue to the south. A short drive is all it will take to dine out or to get take out to bring home for dinner.

History comes alive in many venues of Buffalo, with the closest one to the Buffalo State neighborhood being the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site. The mansion is open for guided tours and performances by guest speakers are held on a regular basis. The facility is handicap accessible with rooms available to rent for large gatherings.
