East Community Team North Apartments for Rent

With public transit, sidewalks and neighborhood parks, the East Community Team North provides many urban amenities. It is an area of older homes reflecting the bungalow style. As an older neighborhood, it also contains small commercial and service establishments. It is bound by East 23rd Street, Van Brunt Boulevard and I-70 in zip code 64127.

Within walking distance are two parks. Chelsea Park, which is within the neighborhood boundaries, has a tennis court, basketball court, playground, ball diamond and open space. A five-minute walk away is Blue Valley Park, a disc golf course that receives high ratings and high praise from those who have played there.

But neighborhood parks are just the beginning of the many attractions. Three miles west and on transit routes are many of Kansas City’s most famous sites. Union Station, a busy Amtrak stop, is there. Just across from the train station are Penn Valley Park, the National World War I Museum and Crown Center. All of these sites are favorites with locals and visitors to the city, providing year-round entertainment and activity.

History and entertainment come together at another neighborhood attraction, the 18th and Vine Historic District. The Gem Theater and American Jazz Museum are there, as well as the Negro League Baseball Hall of Fame.

Several branches of Metropolitan Community College are close by. One borders Penn Valley Park. MCC Pioneer Campus is a bit closer to East Community Team North, located at 18th and Benton.

For shopping convenience, there are several grocery stores within the neighborhood and others only a short drive north along Truman Road. A Walmart Supercenter is about two miles away along I-70.

Fans of professional football and baseball will be delighted to know that the Chiefs and the Royals play only three miles south, at the intersections of I-70 and I-435.
