The Highland neighborhood is cradled by a bend in the Mississippi River. It is bordered to the north by Randolph Avenue, to the west by the Mississippi River, and to the east by I-35E. The neighborhood is home to Highland National Golf Course, St. Catherine University, and Hidden Falls Regional Park.

When you select an apartment in Highland, you will be surrounded by natural beauty. This section of the Mississippi River is flanked with parks and lined with hiking and biking trails, including the Minnesota Valley State trail, Crosby Farm Trail, and Big Rivers Regional Trail. But while Highland is a beautiful neighborhood, it is also convenient – it is adjacent to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. Downtown Saint Paul is just eight miles northeast of Highland, while Downtown Minneapolis is eight miles to the northwest.

If you are moving to an apartment in Highland with kids, the top-rated schools will impress you. The schools in Highland include Highland Park Senior High School and the private Cretin-Durham Hall High School.

The Ford Plant is an important piece of history for the area and a primary reason for economic growth in the community over the years. The plant opened in the early 1900s and the Highland Park Ford Plant became the first in the world to implement the assembly line. Today, it is no longer used as an assembly plant for Ford, but it houses the Henry Ford Museum.

Highland Park is one of the largest parks in the area. This park features a disc golf course, 10 tennis courts, picnicking areas, football and baseball fields, horseshoe pits, miles of jogging and biking trails, an aquatic center, a clubhouse, and stadium seating for nearly 3,000 people. This park is popular for organized sports for all ages, as well as an ideal biking, kite flying, or picnicking spot on a warm Minnesota Saturday afternoon.

Highland National Golf Course is a public course that was renovated and reopened in 2005. The course’s signature 15th hole features a large “Snoopy” shaped bunker that was constructed in honor of Snoopy’s creator, Charles Schultz, who learned to play golf here.

Highland Fest is a local festival that takes place yearly in Highland Park. It brings neighbors together for music, rides, an art fair, fireworks, and more. If you are considering renting a Highland apartment, you’ll truly get it all – a beautiful neighborhood bordered by the river, spectacular parks, terrific schools, proximity to both downtown areas, and everything the Twin Cities has to offer.
