Ericsson is a neighborhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The neighborhood is part of the 55406 and 55407 zip codes and located south of 42nd Street, north of Minnehaha Parkway, west of Hiawatha Avenue, and east of Cedar Avenue. Homes in Ericsson are mostly older with the large majority of the homes here built prior to 1940. The large majority of these homes are detached buildings with only a small number of multiple family dwellings. Owners tend to live in the homes here providing a limited number of rental properties.

Recreation is the name of the game in Ericsson with many major popular destinations within a mile of the neighborhood. In the immediate area is Hiawatha Lake Park which is home to Lake Hiawatha and the Hiawatha Golf Course. This lake itself is not only a great scenic feature of the park but a major source of recreation with many fishermen testing their luck on a daily basis. The park itself also has baseball fields, tennis courts, a basketball court, and a large playground. There is even a recreation center and swimming pool. The golf course on the west side of the lake is also quite popular.

South of Hiawatha Lake Park is the massive Lake Nakomis Park and Lake Nakomis. This huge park has 9 different fields used for baseball and softball. There are several docks that are used for fishing and recreational boating is a major deal here. There is also a large beach area that is used for swimming, tanning, and of course building sand castles. Families frequent the beach during the warmer months. Surrounding the park and the lake itself are many different trails providing area walkers, runners, skaters, and cyclists with miles of exercise. These trails also connect directly to Hiawatha Lake Park for additional mileage.
