Beacon Hill Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The quintessential Boston neighborhood, Beacon Hill is what typically comes to mind when one thinks of Boston: quaint gas lamps and brick sidewalks, elegant row houses with intricate iron work and beautifully carved doors. Walk along Charles Street and do some antique shopping; head down Cambridge Street and find your favorite restaurant. This is where the famous Bostonians lived, including American icons Sylvia Plath, Robert Frost, and Louisa May Alcott.
Beacon Hill is a National Historic District. It contains several architectural treasures, including the Rose Nichols House Museum, which is open to the public. The Massachusetts State House, built in 1795, is built at the top of the hill on pasture land once owned by John Hancock. Two gems in Boston’s Emerald Necklace are also located near Beacon Hill: Boston Common, America’s first park dating to the 1630s, and Boston Public Garden, the country’s oldest botanical garden.
