Sand Hills is a historically black neighborhood adjacent to the communities of Summerville and Forest Hills. Today this neighborhood is an educated and culturally diverse neighborhood in Augusta. In addition, Sand Hills is only one hour from Columbia, the capital of South Carolina, and just an easy two-hour drive to Atlanta, the capital of Georgia.

Sand Hills lies close to two excellent venues for continued education, Augusta State University and Paine College. Augusta State University is a traditional University that blends an innovative hands-on approach to learning with over 50 programs of study offered. The campus is made up of beautiful, historic buildings and has a diverse student enrollment of over 6,500. Paine College, a private institution, was founded in 1882. This liberal arts college also offers a beautiful campus and enrolls just under 1,000 students.
The famous Augusta National Golf Club, currently ranked the number one course in Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 greatest courses, is located just to the north of Sand Hills. This golf club has hosted the annual Masters Tournament since 1934, one of the four major championships in professional golf. Augusta National only has about 300 members at a given time and memberships are strictly by invitation. Some notable members of the club include Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.
