It’s the historical, well-preserved home of Joel Chandler Harris, who wrote the Uncle Remus stories, who would later be the basis for a Disney movie that resulted in the famous Splash Mountain ride at Disneyland. His stories are historically relevant, and the museum attracts visitors from all over the state and country.

Rue Royal is an ideal neighborhood for those who love the outdoors. The tree-lined community streets are often flocked with dog walkers and joggers. Greebriar Park and Deerwood Park are both about a half-mile from Rue Royal, and they are frequented by residents of the neighborhood.
