Hammond Park is located within the boundaries of Hammond Drive and Glenridge Drive, and Interstates 75 and 285, and is considered part of the Sandy Springs area. The area largely consists of single family homes, which range in price from the mid $80,000 to more than $400,000. There are also several apartments scattered around the area, with rents beginning in the mid $600s for a 2 bedroom unit. While there is some access to mass transit in the area, this is a community where a car would be needed.
The community has a number of recreational facilities at its doorstep, including several parks. One of the most popular, Hammond Park, offers residents a pair of recreation centers that can be used for a variety of community events, a gym and fields for soccer and football. A number of historical former residences are easily reached from the Hammond Park neighborhoods, including the homes of Uncle Remus creator Joel Chandler Harris, The Wren’s Nest, and Margaret Mitchell, author of Gone with the Wind. Midtown is only a short distance from these sites, giving residents access to the Fox Theater, the High Museum of Art and Landmark’s Art Cinema, as well as a variety of shopping dining and Entertainment options.
For those who frequently find themselves in need of retail therapy, the community is located near some of the premier shopping centers in Atlanta, including Perimeter Mall, The Prado, and Sandy Springs Shopping Center.
