Woodland Terrace Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Woodland Terrace is a relatively large residential area, covering the area north of Hanna Avenue between 40th Street and 22nd Street to south of Sligh Avenue and Rivergrove Drive. The community has many older homes that were built in the 1940s to 1950s and is home to a lot of younger families as well as many senior citizens.
One of the most popular destinations for area residents is located in the center of the neighborhood. Woodland Terrace Park and Recreation Center is a favorite spot for area youth and dog walkers. The park has a large baseball field, three basketball courts, and plenty of open space. The empty space is used by dog walkers, who bring their dogs there for socializing, and is often used by kids playing soccer, flying kites, and throwing Frisbees. There is also a small playground that is popular with younger children.
For a little change of pace in entertainment, just a mile south off of Hillsborough Avenue is Fun Lan Drive-In Theater. This popular theater shows a variety of different movies on the large drive-in screen. The theater is as old as the community, but still provides entertainment to its residents.
Across from the Fun Lan is the closest area hospital. Tampa General Hospital Genesis is a relatively small hospital that provides normal hospital services but will often send patients with more serious problems to their much larger main hospital in south Tampa. The hospital provides many of the services for area residents.
For shopping, the Woodland Terrace area is somewhat limited, but there are some major retail chains in the general area. To the south of Fun Lan Drive In is a small complex that features a Ross, Payless, and Radio Shack. There is also a Walgreens and Albertsons across from the plaza.
