Timberlake Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Just two miles east of the intersection of Capital Circle Southeast and Apalachee Parkway is the Tallahassee neighborhood of Timberlake. This is a private Florida community consisting of about 240 homes. The community has a large parkland area and a pavilion located on Timber Ridge Road.
This quiet community features a pond with waterfowl and open green space in the form of a neighborhood commons. Residents enjoy picnic facilities, walking trails, and a dog park where neighborhood pets can run freely within a fenced-in area. The commons area is often used for neighborhood gatherings and events such as the Halloween Carnival and ice cream socials in warm weather. The local homeowners’ association plays a very active role in the neighborhood.
One area lake that furnishes recreational opportunities for Timberlake residents, particularly when it comes to or fishing, is Piney Z Lake. Among the types of fish stocked in the lake are smallmouth and largemouth bass, bream, bluegill, sunfish, and rainbow trout. Resident kayak and canoe enthusiasts enjoy the area’s Lafayette Passage Paddling Trail, a nearly eight-mile round-trip water excursion from the boat ramp at Piney Z Lake. Visitors will enjoy an occasional spotting of an endangered wood stork.
Another great outdoor recreational resource for the Timberlake community is nearby Tom Brown Park. This popular green space contains baseball diamonds, soccer fields, a Frisbee golf course, a BMX bike track, picnic facilities, and a playground area. Multi-use trails from the park connect it with the Lafayette Heritage Trail Park via the shoreline of Lake Lafayette.
