Most residents of Terrace Park are within walking distance to Winthrop Park. Located at the northern part of Terrace Park, just south of Betton Road, Winthrop Park was the winner of the “Park or Facility of the Quarter” in 2010. Winthrop has a variety of offerings for everyone to enjoy – from the various athletic fields to the stunning rose garden. Winthrop Park also provides racquetball courts, picnic areas, tennis courts, a children’s playground, and walking paths.

Less than a mile to the west of Terrace Park is Lake Ella. This eye-catching lake has changed over the years with the addition of picnic areas and benches for relaxing while enjoying the view. Areas are also provided for walking. Lake Ella’s history goes back to the early 19th century when it was just a pond and a popular fishing hole. Today the 12-acre lake is used for treating storm water runoff by the city. Visitors can enjoy the lake by the water’s edge or visit one of the nearby restaurants like Black Dog Café where one can sip a cup of coffee while admiring the lake.

There are many shopping and dining choices near the Terrace Park neighborhood. To the north along Thomasville Road are large chain stores, a movie theater, restaurants, and fast-food chains. A couple miles to the southwest, along North Monroe Street, are also many dining choices – from cafes to fine dining.

Public schools serving the Terrace Park neighborhood include Sullivan Elementary, Cobb, Middle, and Leon High School. Both Sullivan and Cobb are less than a mile to the south of Terrace Park. The high school is approximately one mile to the southwest.
