Copper Creek is a residential neighborhood approximately four miles east of downtown Tallahassee, in the 32311 zip code. There is one entrance/exit to the community located on Apalachee Parkway, which limits non-resident traffic through the community. Apalachee Parkway is also the main road leading from the neighborhood to the downtown area.

With Tom Brown Park, Piney Z Lake, Lake Lafayette, and JR Alford Greenway all within a 15-minute drive of Copper Creek, residents have many recreational and outdoor options available. JR Alford Greenway provides both open areas and trails for hiking, mountain cycling, and horseback riding.

Tom Brown Park, which has more than 250 acres, not only offers trails for walking and hiking that link with Goose Pond Trail but also has a BMX track bikers can utilize. The track has a separate area for kids, along with stunt and drop areas for the more experienced riders. At the south end of the park is Lake Leon. Tom Brown Park also has a dog park, various athletic fields, tennis courts, a playground, and picnic areas.

Local residents are close to to many shopping and dining venues along Apalachee Parkway. About two miles to the west are the Governor’s Square Mall and the Gulf Wind Shopping Center. Residents are also only minutes away from downtown, where there are various specialty shops, museums, art galleries, and restaurants.

Although Lincoln High School is less than a half-mile to the north of Copper Creek, residents and students need to travel around Conner Boulevard to access the school, as there are no exit roads from Copper Creek’s northern section. To the northeast of the neighborhood are Apalachee Elementary School and Cobb Middle School. Florida State University and Florida A&M University are located to the west of the neighborhood.
