Twin Lakes Villas Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
With easy access to I-10 and I-110, residents of the Twin Lakes Villas neighborhood are a short drive away from the beaches, bays, and bayous of Pensacola. Yet the neighborhood itself is somewhat secluded, accessed only by Hillburn Road/East Burgess Road. Most homes in the Twin Lakes Villas neighborhood are new, built following a cottage-type plan. There are a few larger ranch homes and small apartment buildings as well. It is a charming area of quiet cul-de-sacs.
Twin Lakes Villas area is also quite conveniently located to some of the best shopping and entertainment spots in Pensacola. University Mall and Pensacola Square are less than a mile east. Near the two malls are TJ Maxx, PetSmart, and several local restaurants.
Pensacola Junior College, Pensacola Regional Airport, Corporate Woods, and Elite Plaza are with a five-minute drive southeast of the Twin Lakes Villas area.
One of the most scenic drives in Florida runs just south of the airport. Pensacola Scenic Bluffs Highway is an eleven mile route over the highest point in the state. Along the route, the iconic moss-draped oaks frame magnificent views of Escambia Bay. The trail follows many important historic sites and passes through several ecosystems.
Less than ten miles south of Twin Lakes Villas are numerous recreational areas along the Gulf and Santa Rosa Island. Certainly, the pier at Pensacola Beach is a great place to fish. There are also several golf courses here – one at Perdido Bay, and four at Pensacola Naval Complex. Pensacola Lighthouse is also at the Naval Complex.
Also along Pensacola Bay are historic forts. The most famous is Fort Pickens on Santa Rosa Island. Built in 1829 to protect travel and shipping, it is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
