Tierraerde is near Escambia Bay, on the north side of Pensacola, Florida in Escambia County. The neighborhood is 15 minutes from central Pensacola and is located just south of Langley Avenue next to Spanish Trail Road.
The Tierraerde community is pedestrian-friendly with sidewalks for walking or jogging. Lavallet Park is adjacent to the neighborhood just across Spanish Trail, and features a playground, picnic area and walking path.
Public education is provided by the Escambia County School District. Schoolchildren can attend Scenic Heights Elementary School, which is just a short walk away, J.H. Workman Middle School and Washington Senior High, a magnet school. Colleges and universities in the area include the University of West Florida, Pensacola State College, and Troy University.
Religious services can be found at East Brent Baptist Church, East Hill Baptist Church, Church of Christ Eastgate, Grace Lutheran Church and Baywoods Assembly of God. The closest library is the Tryon Branch Library on Langley Avenue, but those interested in local history or genealogy will want to make a visit to the West Florida Genealogy Library on North 9th Avenue.
Residents who enjoy the beach will want to visit the Pensacola Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The beach features a boardwalk with shops, restaurants, and outdoor watering holes. During the summer season, the beach hosts free concerts four nights a week. Visitors can snorkel, kayak, or bike at the National Seashore next door.
Other attractions and points of interest in the surrounding area include the Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum, the Gulf Breeze Zoo and the Pensacola Museum of Art, which offers classes and workshops for children and adults and houses exhibits in former cells of the historic Pensacola jail.
