Gulf beaches and historic sites offer almost endless recreational options, and often these come together. Fort Pickens, part of the Gulf Islands Seashore, is one of four forts along the Gulf. Explore the 1829 fort then hike the trails, camp, fish or swim. Visit the Pensacola Lighthouse and take in the Light of the Moon tour.

Fishermen enjoy plenty of access to the bays and Gulf, and boat launches lie at the north end of Escambia Bay. The 1,471-foot Pensacola Beach Gulf Fishing Pier is an exceptional facility for fishing and wildlife viewing, and charter services provide access to Gulf waters.

One of the city’s best-known attractions, the Blue Angels, can be seen practicing over the waters of Pensacola Bay. Pensacola is home to Pensacola Naval Complex and Saufley Field.
