The neighborhood of Saufley Park, located within the historic city of Pensacola, Florida, offers something nearby for everyone: three local golf courses, a local lake and park, and shopping and dinner within walking distance of the community. Fairgrounds and Saufley Field Nolf, which is used to train airplane pilots, are within one-half mile of Saufley Park.
The Osceola Municipal Golf Course, within one mile of Saufley Park, was established in 1926, but has recently undergone some renovations. The 18-hole 6,366-yard course features narrow fairways and small greens designed by William Earl Mehlhorn, who won 20 times on the PGA Tour in the 1920s. Marcus Pointe Golf Club is much newer. This 18-hole course, designed by Earl Stone, opened in 1990 and sits approximately one mile from the neighborhood. The Green Meadows Par 3 Golf Course offers a shorter round of golf, and is located approximately one-half mile to the east.
The smaller Carriage Hills Park, located to the south of the neighborhood, offers slides, swings, a playground and covered picnic area. Calm blue waters rimmed by heavily wooded shores define nearby Crescent Lake, within one mile of the neighborhood.
The Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds are within a short walk west of Saufley Park. The 140-acre grounds, home to the annual Pensacola Interstate Fair, also host a number of exhibitions and concerts throughout the year.
Bellview Shopping Center is a short walk southeast of Saufley Park. A number of stores are located in the shopping center including Walgreens, Publix supermarket and Winn-Dixie. Fast food establishments include Waffle House, Taco Bell and KFC.
