Ravine Woods Apartments for Rent
Pensacola Bay is about four miles south of the Ravine Woods community. Colonade Circle forms a lazy “P” as it exits off of North 65th Avenue into the compact Florida neighborhood. The roadway leads past groves of hardwood trees and stately single-family houses as it travels one block to the western edge of the neighborhood.
About 36 homes line the roadway. Ravine Woods was developed during the 1970s, and though the style is distinctly ranch, each home was individually designed. Some have facades of deep red brick, while others feature stucco with pastel paint shades. Lots are large, averaging a quarter of an acre, and are filled with lawns and shade trees. A few homes have swimming pools.
Escambia High School is next door, and Myrtle Grove Elementary is two blocks east. A satellite campus of the University of North Alabama is across from the elementary school and offers degrees in everything from computer science to nursing. There is no shortage of nearby churches, among them the Little Flower Catholic Church, which also operates its own elementary school. The closest mall is Southgate Shopping Center, along Highway 295 to the southeast.
Myrtle Grove Athletic Park is a few blocks south of Ravine Woods. The Myrtle Grove Athletic Association offers a youth sports program at this facility, taking advantage of the nine softball and baseball diamonds, as well as the lighted football field. A playground is available for younger children. North of Ravine Woods is the Osceola Municipal Golf Course, a fixture in West Pensacola since 1926. The public 18-hole course offers reduced weekday and youth rates. Across from the golf course is from Highway 90, which is home to a number of fast-food and sit-down restaurants.
