Northview Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The block-long Strandview Drive hosts the pocket community of Northview, located due north of downtown Pensacola, Florida. Built in the late 1990s, this neighborhood is made up of 31 single-family homes on quarter-acre home sites. Homes here are individually designed in a single-story, clean contemporary design, and are surrounded by manicured lawns and groves of trees. A few homes feature swimming pools. Strandview Drive ends in a cul-de-sac, which offers residents little traffic and a quiet, pedestrian-friendly community.
Much of the land to the west and north is either undeveloped or consists of homes on large plots of land. The rest of the immediate area is lightly populated. Six blocks south, a commercial zone along East 9 Mile Road features strip malls with stores such as Wal-Mart, Big Lots and Winn Dixie.
Northview lies halfway between East 9 and East 10 Mile Roads, both of which lead to the University of West Florida, the Scenic Hills Country Club, and farther east to Murphy’s Cove and Macky Bay. These two bodies of water are known for their abundant schools of salmon and bass. A small public boat launch and beach are at the end of Noriega Lane at Murphy’s Cove.
The John R. Jones Jr. Athletic Complex is located within one mile of Northview, on East 9 Mile Road. This 70-acre park offers illuminated softball diamonds for youth and adults, a football field and picnic pavilions. The Ensley Chiefs Football Association and the Youth Association of Northeast Pensacola offers team play for young adults. North of the community sits Ashton Brosnaham Park, home to the Pensacola Futbol Club. This club sponsors soccer games for all ages.
Schools surround the community, the closest being L. D. McArthur Elementary and Escambia Westgate Center, both to the north.
