North Hill Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Set on a hill overlooking the historic downtown area, North Hill is a Pensacola community bordered on the north by West Fairfield Drive and on the east by North Palafox Street. West Cervantes Street is on the south side, and the Mobile Highway lies to the west. Interstate 110 runs adjacent to the neighborhood on its east side.
Stately older homes of Spanish and French colonial design sit in the shade of live oaks and loblolly pines. Because they are close to the downtown section of Pensacola, residents regularly drop in at downtown galleries such as the Art Praha European Galerie, Turner Antiques Gallery, and the Pink Picasso Gallery and Studio.
Local eateries favored by North Hill residents include the Dog House Deli for lunch and the Global Grill, a fine dining restaurant. Hopjacks Pizza Kitchen and Taproom and Sumo Sushi are popular specialty restaurants.
Families enjoy visiting Historic Pensacola Village, which includes 20 properties in the downtown area. The Village hosts interpretive tours of properties, as well as evening ghost tours in the summertime.
Shoppers in the neighborhood routinely visit downtown retailers such as Elebash’s Fine Jewelry, La Monique Boutique, and Don Alan’s. The Indigeaux Denim Bar and Boutique and the Jewelers Trade Shop are popular as well.
The neighborhood is close to the Pensacola Beach Pier and the Portofino Boardwalk, which is on the beach. Neighborhood residents appreciate their proximity to the boardwalk and its variety of shops and restaurants. Diners enjoy Hemingway’s Island Grill, while shoppers like browsing at such stores as Lee Tracy Shoes and Apparel and X-Tremly Beadz.
