Morningside Apartments for Rent
Winding Lane, which runs from the Scenic Highway in the north to East Johnson Avenue in the south, is quite aptly named. This curved roadway, as well as a fraction of Bixby Circle, travels across the community of Morningside, located within Pensacola, Florida. East of the neighborhood are a stretch of undeveloped land, a few pocket communities and the waters of Escambia Bay. A few smaller neighborhoods sit to the west.
Here in the eastern part of Pensacola, residents are first in the area to get a glimpse of the morning light, or take in the salty breezes coming off the bay. This collection of single-family homes rests on home sites averaging one-quarter acre of land, most filled with trees, lush lawns and in some cases swimming pools. Most are single-story ranch homes, but a few newer properties sport additional levels and creative roof lines. Nearby churches and schools sit to the south and west. Although mostly owner-occupied, homes are occeasionally available for rent.
Morningside is only one block from the Scenic Highway/Route 90. This roadway runs the length of the Pensacola coastline. Within one mile south of the neighborhood it connects to Interstate 10 and the bridge that leads east to Milton. Interstate 10 in the westerly direction goes to downtown Pensacola and North 9th Avenue. The latter roadway leads to the Pensacola Regional Airport and Pensacola State College. Cordova Mall lies next to the college. The larger University Mall is closer to Interstate 10. Traveling north on Route 90 takes travelers to Macky Bay, a local fishing spot noted for large stocks of salmon and bass. Within one mile inland from this bay is the University of West Florida.
