The Manchester neighborhood is a subdivision in Pensacola, Florida. The community is made up primarily of properties with traditional-style architecture. Homes sit on lots that feature a variety of greenery such as pecan hickories, oaks, bald cypresses, and poplar trees.
The Pensacola Naval complex lies to the southeast of the neighborhood, and Saufley Field is to the northeast. The community is bordered by Lillian Highway to the north, County Road 297/Dog Track Road on the west, Sorrento Road on the south, and County Road 298/Bauer Road to the east.
Residents who are hikers or birders like to visit the Tarklin Bayou Preserve State Park, situated to the southeast of Manchester. Sightings of regional birds such as egrets and bitterns are often noted.
Manchester residents are also close to beaches, among them those along Perdido Bay to the west and northwest and Pensacola Bay to the southeast. Popular water activities include swimming, boating, fishing, and scuba diving.
Osceola Municipal Golf Course is northeast of the neighborhood. The 18-hole course, which opened in 1926, features a clubhouse, restaurant, driving range, and practice green. Another popular attraction is the Pensacola boardwalk. The boardwalk plays host to a number of specialty shops and boutiques such Geronimo’s Outpost and the Tropical Wave.
