Lauryce Park Apartments for Rent
Developed in the early 1960s, the barely block-long community of Lauryce Park offers a semi-rural lifestyle west of downtown Pensacola, Florida. North 70th Avenue is the neighborhood’s main thoroughfare, ending in a cul-de-sac just short of West Jackson Street. The community also connects to Penton Street in the south, a much quieter thoroughfare. Parts of Fabiano and Malvern Streets are also considered to be within the neighborhood.
Most homes are of the single-family variety, but there are also a few duplexes on this gently-curved street. Lots are irregularly-shaped, and most have expansive lawns and groves of mature trees, particularly in the backyards. Some properties have swimming pools. At the northern end, a line of trees acts as a privacy screen and sound barrier between the development and the busy West Jackson Street.
Two blocks north is the Myrtle Grove Athletic Park, a 17-acre venue that is home to the Myrtle Grove Athletic Association, which manages the local youth sports programs. The park offers nine baseball/softball diamonds, a football field and playgrounds. The Little Flower Catholic Church and School are across from the park. Myrtle Grove Elementary and Escambia High are a bit farther away.
Most of the shops and restaurants sit along West Jackson Street and West Fairfield Drive, which also goes past the Naval Hospital of Pensacola. This roadway connects to New Warrington Road, which leads south to the Pensacola Naval Complex. On the way it passes both the Southgate and Warrington shopping centers as well as the Pensacola Golf Club, a waterfront course.
