Heather Oaks Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Heather Oaks is a neighborhood of new cottage-style homes and spacious duplexes located within the coastal city of Pensacola, Florida, west of North 69th Avenue in the 32506 zip code area of Escambia County. Heather Oaks Drive is the neighborhood’s only interior road. Both an elementary school and a high school are within walking distance.
A variety of recreational and entertainment facilities are also quite close. The Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds, approximately five miles away, offers much more than the annual 10-day state fair, although that is quite an extravaganza; the Fairgrounds are frequently the scene for music festivals, art shows and antique fairs, as well. Five Flags Speedway, approximately eight miles away, is a favorite of local race fans.
Perdido Bay, approximately three miles away, will appeal to fishermen and boaters. Three public launches on the bay make for easy access to these waters and the bayous and beaches to the south. Golfers will appreciate the neighborhood’s proximity to the public Osceola Municipal Golf Course.
The nearby Mobile Highway offers retail centers including Wal-Mart and Publix, and fast food restaurants at the Bellview Shopping Center.
North Blue Angel Parkway provides a direct link to the Pensacola Naval Complex. Home to Pensacola’s famed Blue Angels and the National Naval Aviation Museum, the Naval Complex is also a top historic site; a famous landmark, the Pensacola Lighthouse, was constructed in 1859 and is still in operation.
Of course, the white sand beaches along the gulf are Pensacola’s biggest assets. The area near the 1,475-foot fishing pier offers a variety of open-air bars and restaurants, and is the location for the city’s free summer concerts.
The festivals and events scheduled year round offer Heather Oaks residents a full schedule; there is always something happening, and a little something for everyone. Mardi Gras and the 4th of July are top holiday events, but every month is a good month to celebrate Pensacola’s history, culture, food and music.
