Grand Cedars Reserve is a neighborhood of new, brick ranch homes that sit on spacious lots. East Johnson Avenue and Cody Lane border the neighborhood, which lies the 32514 zip code.
Grand Cedars Reserve is very conveniently located near Pensacola’s two largest higher educational institutions. Almost 12 thousand undergraduates and graduate students are enrolled at the University of West Florida, about five miles north. Pensacola Junior College lies about five miles south, near Pensacola Regional Airport.
Two nearby golf courses offer good choices for golfers. Marcus Pointe, with affordable membership rates and a beautiful course and clubhouse, lies to the south. Scenic Hills offers both a golf club and a country club, and is only a few miles north of Grand Cedars.
University Town Center is one of several neighborhood malls. Featuring a Target and Publix Grocery, the mall houses many other top retailers as well. University Mall offers department stores like Belks, Sears, and J.C. Penney.
East 9-Mile Road, about a mile north, is a major restaurant and retail center. The shopping area offers almost two-dozen eateries, both national and local, as well as a Lowe’s Home Store. The John R. Jones Junior Athletic Complex is here as well, providing 12 baseball fields, a playground, and a picnic area.
While the neighborhood offers many conveniences, Pensacola’s natural attractions are close by as well. Santa Rosa Island and Sound are popular with anyone who loves fishing, boating, swimming, or beachcombing. Fort Pickens is on Santa Rosa Island. Built in 1829 to protect shipping, it is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Pensacola Lighthouse, still in operation, has been a landmark and attraction since it was built in 1859. Seville Square is another centuries-old area and is now the scene of popular summer concerts.
