Forestdale is located on the north side of the city of Pensacola, Florida. This small neighborhood is predominately a residential area and the houses are twenty to thirty years old. Most of the residents here are between thirty and sixty years of age. The houses here are summer rentals or dwellings occupied by retired couples.

Some of the best attractions in this area are the parks, golf courses, and beaches on the ocean. Hitzman Optimist Park is the closest park to Forestdale and easiest to get to. This park is only minutes from Forestdale and offers residents a place to go for relaxation and picnics. Hitzman Optimist Park has several benches, picnic pavilions and playground equipment. Plantation Park is also only a few minutes from Forestdale and is quite a bit larger than Hitzman Optimist Park. Plantation Park offers more of a sporting complex with baseball, softball and soccer fields.

The Atlantic Ocean is less than fifteen minutes from Forestdale. Lavallet Park is on the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and offers guests and residents a place to go for a day at the beach. Not only does Lavallet offer beach fun, but it also has picnic areas and playground equipment.

Forestdale is ten minutes from Pensacola Junior College. This college is a great start for students who want to prepare themselves for a four year school. Most of the students here will obtain a Bachelor’s degree with an intention of carrying that knowledge to a bigger school.
