Fiveash Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Only one block wide and two tall, the pocket community of Fiveash on the northwestern edge of Pensacola has a decidedly rural atmosphere. Fewer than 30 homes line the neighborhood’s four streets; these homes rest on large, wooded home sites with adequate space for swimming pools. Gary Avenue and Larry Avenue, each only two blocks long, offer the only points of ingress and egress to the neighborhood. Both streets exit off West Avery Street, another quiet roadway. Homes are single-story, and most were built during the 1970s.
The Fiveash neighborhood is bordered on three sides by other, equally-rural communities, and on its north side by a number of acres of undeveloped woods. Farther north is the campus of Penasacola Catholic High. Closer to the community are Escambia Christian School, on its southern border, and Oakcrest Elementary, two blocks west. The T and W Flea Market, one of south Florida’s largest outdoor markets, is located five blocks east on West Avery Street. Churches include the Good Works Baptist Church, one block away.
The closest shops and restaurants lie along Mobile Highway/Route 90 and County Road 453. Some of the local hangouts include the Country Kitchen and Arlene William’s Barbeque, known for its ribs. Route 90 east leads to downtown Pensacola, with even more dining and shopping opportunities along the way. The Palafox Shopping Center, McDonald Shopping Center and Fairfield Shopping Mall are all within a two-mile radius.
Golfers may tee off or take a lesson or two at the Osceola Municipal Golf Course, roughly two miles northwest. One mile beyond the golf course, residents will find Crescent Lake. This large lake is a popular local fishing spot. For breathtaking views, Pensacola Bay lies fewer than three miles south.
