Evergreen Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Evergreen neighborhood comprises mostly small ranch homes, though some are quite spacious. Much of the area is heavily shaded by towering oak and pine trees, keeping the sidewalks and yards cool and comfortable. It’s bounded by East Johnson Avenue, Olympia Road, and Bixby Circle.
The district abuts two of the city’s great attractions: Escambia Bay and the Scenic Highway. Both are only a few blocks away.
A five-minute drive northwest lies the University of West Florida, the city’s largest college. UWF offers both undergraduate and graduate programs, with an enrollment of almost 12,000 students. It has respected athletic teams that frequently win championship titles. The university brings great cultural programs that both students and the community enjoy. UWF works on local projects involving resource protection and historical preservation.
Evergreen residents are just two miles from one of the largest, and, many say, best retail and entertainment districts in Pensacola. First, there is the large and upscale Cordova Mall. Additionally, there is the Rave Motion Pictures Bayou 15 movie complex and a number of casual restaurants and fast-food eateries, both in and out of the mall. Applebee’s, Hooters, and the Olive Garden are blocks from the theater.
The area is convenient for those making the short commute to Corporate Woods, Sacred Heart Medical Complex, and Pensacola Junior College, all of which are near Cordova Mall.
Pensacola abounds with great recreational, historic, and cultural sites. The beach area has four historic forts and a long pier popular among fishermen and families alike. Downtown attractions include the Pensacola Art Museum and Seville Square Historic District.
