Eastwood Apartments for Rent
The Eastwood neighborhood could be known for its lovely lawns and gardens alone. The perfume from rose gardens must surely extend to the sidewalks. Crepe myrtles bloom in the summer, and azaleas provide the first bursts of color in the early spring. New, upscale homes have a polished appearance. Eastwood is only accessed by Eastwood Lane, off East Olive Road in zip code 32514.
Yet, on a soft summer night, residents may enjoy the fragrance of sea air, since Escambia Bay is just about one mile away. Other bays are just beyond, along with a number of wildlife management areas and state forests. Blackwater River State Forest, one of the largest in the state, is less than twenty miles away by I-10. Indeed, the vast area just east of Eastwood is a complex watershed of many rivers.
Several nearby boat launches make it easy to explore this region – or simply enjoy a day of fishing. Mystic Springs, in north Escambia County, has a small craft ramp. Archie Glover Boat Ramp serves powerboats, with two ramps, pavilions, and a pier.
But finding a recreation site near Eastwood is never a problem. More than a dozen state and municipal parks, and a large National Seashore combine to offer the best in water-related activities.
It’s a great area for history buffs, too. The city of Pensacola is known as the City of Five Flags, indicating its long history. Four historic forts, now quiet, still guard the waters of Pensacola Bay, and Pensacola Lighthouse still sends forth its beacon of light.
The military presence today centers around Pensacola Naval Base, the home of the Blue Angels. They practice and perform here. The National Naval Aviation Museum is here, as well.
