Dogwood Terrace Apartments for Rent

The community of Dogwood Terrace is a compact, one-block-long neighborhood within the port city of Pensacola, Florida. Dogwood Terrace harbors an assortment of individually-designed homes, some of which are quite large. Built in the late 1970s, the neighborhood features both single-family homes and duplexes, a number of which occasionally come up for rent. Homes all line Dogwood Terrace Drive, the neighborhood’s only point of egress and ingress. Some properties are almost hidden by the wealth of mature trees on both the roadway and in the lawns.

Dogwood Terrace lies on the eastern end of Pensacola, two blocks from Interstate 10. The community is surrounded by a number of other lightly-populated, tree-filled neighborhoods, and an assortment of urban parks. Belvedere Park is the closest, and at over six acres, it is also the largest. The park offers a basketball court and playground. Eastgate Park, a bit farther west, provides five acres of open space that also includes a paved walking path through its hardwood forest.

Nearby schools include Scenic Heights Elementary, the private Little Whiskers Learning Center, and Ferry Pass Middle School. Washington High School lies farther southwest near Pensacola State College and the Pensacola Regional Airport. Also in this area are the University of Florida Medical College and its affiliated Sacred Heart Health System.

Taking Interstate 10 west leads to University Mall, approximately three miles away. Creighton Road, which connects to Dogwood Terrace Drive, offers restaurants and services including O’Riley’s Irish Pub, the Spanish Trail Restaurant and Pub, and a pet adoption center called the Hotel for Dogs and Cats. The postage stamp-sized Eastgate Shopping Center sits a few blocks from the neighborhood.
