Crystal Wells is a northern Pensacola, Florida subdivision located near Highway 290/East Olive Road and Florida 95A, just north of I-10. Nearby communities include Kimberly Woods, Oak Forest, Ortega and Green Acres.
The community offers a variety of affordable, single-family housing options. Many residents here enjoy the quiet, suburban lifestyle, but like the fact that they are still close to nearby universities, airports, hospitals, beaches and shopping centers.
The community of Crystal Wells lies between the University of West Florida and Pensacola Jr. College, now renamed Pensacola State College. These schools offer residents two great continuing-education options, both offering over 100 degree programs.
A favorite park for residents of Crystal Wells lies just north of the community. Drummond Park and John R. Jones Jr. Athletic Complex feature nearly 70-acres of green space, 12 baseball fields, a football field, a playground and picnicking areas. The facility is also home to the Adult Softball Complex, which has four fields with covered dugouts. The community provides youth sports programs as well as women’s, men’s and co-ed leagues.
Shopping centers nearby include University Mall, University Town Center and Pensacola Square Shopping Center. Cordova Mall, situated at the intersection of Highway 289 and 296, is considered to be one of the most upscale malls in Pensacola. Cordova Mall is anchored by Belk, Dilliard’s, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, and World Market, featuring over 125 specialty and boutique stores.
West Florida Hospital, which lies just east of Crystal Wells, offers top-quality medical care for area residents. It is the only hospital in the area to offer patients private rooms. The hospital also features the area’s only Accredited Chest Pain Center and the area’s only comprehensive physical rehabilitation hospital.
Golfers in the northern Pensacola area enjoy Scenic Hills Country Club, which lies just minutes north of Crystal Wells. This public course features 18 holes of beautifully landscaped grounds. It is the only course in the state of Florida that has hosted a U.S. Open event.
