Hiking trails are available for closer views of the different plant and animals that call the preserve home. Picnic areas are available.
Big Lagoon State Recreation Area encompasses 655 acres of pine flatwoods and saltwater marshes. Visitors can swim at the beach, fish, hike numerous trails, enjoy boating or canoeing, take pictures from the observation tower, camp, and picnic. The park also features an amphitheater for concerts and special events.
