Camelot Unit Apartments for Rent
The Camelot Unit neighborhood features spacious, low-slung ranch homes that stretch across generous lawns. Masses of azaleas bunch around large oak and pine trees, a spectacular sight in the spring. The Camelot Unit, in zip code 32514, is bound by North 9th Avenue, Collingswood Road, and Hendrix Avenue.
Yet for all the tranquility of this neighborhood, busy educational, retail, and recreational sites are nearby. In fact, some are within walking distance. Pensacola Junior College is less than two miles away. And in the PJC area are Cordova Mall, a number of restaurants, and a movie theater. The Pensacola Regional Airport is here, too.
Only slightly farther and to the east is Escambia Bay. With great water access and prized by boaters, it is a popular fishing area. Those who prefer to kayak and canoe are drawn to the rivers that feed into the bay. Because the Camelot Unit neighborhood is located so close to I-10 and the Escambia Bay Bridge, a world of wildlife and water is only a short drive away. Eglin Air Force Base is also just a few miles away via I-10.
Pensacola Bay Bridge is quite popular with fishermen. Yearly passes are available for a very nominal fee. The pier is also a great place to relax and watch the activities all around.
Those who prefer fresh water fishing will find Lake Stone, with its 100-acre campground, a great park that is close to home. There are 77 campsites, a pier, and small store here.
Geocachers, those who hunt for prizes following clues, will enjoy the hunt here as they pass through some of the most scenic and environmentally interesting areas around Pensacola.
South of the airport, Bayou Texar is a dog-lover’s spot. This dog park is extraordinary – dogs get their own sandy beach and swimming area!
