Britton Place Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Part commercial, part residential, the Britton Place neighborhood sits on the edge of Pensacola, Florida’s downtown core. This four-block community stretches from North M Street on the east to North S Street on the west. Route 292 runs right through the middle, and doubles as the neighborhood’s main commercial route, housing businesses as varied as Muffler Masters and the locally-owned Cole’s Wings and Things restaurant. A branch of the US Post Office lies two blocks away, with the Baptist Hospital a couple blocks further. West Jordan Street, the southern border, leads east to Interstate 110, downtown and to east Pensacola.
On the northeast corner is El Bethel Word of Truth Worship. Though not within the community boundaries, C. A. Weis Elementary, Brownsville Elementary and Pensacola High are within walking distance. Some of the homes are quaint bungalows dating from the 1950s, while others were built in the ranch style perhaps a decade or two later. The area is mostly pedestrian-friendly, but the commercial section can be challenging during the morning and afternoon commutes.
Englewood Park lies three blocks northeast of Britton Place. This three-acre open space is home to the Pensacola Boys and Girls Club that operates out of the onsite community center. Other park features include an illuminated baseball field, basketball court and picnic pavilions. Highland Terrace Shopping Center and Fairfield Village Mall are both nearby, to the north. The beaches of Pensacola Bay and the main harbor are approximately two miles south. Golfers can tee off at the Osceola Municipal Golf Course, approximately three miles west of Britton Place.
