Bay Pine Villas Apartments for Rent

Bay Pine Villa Drive skirts the edge of the rectangular-shaped community of Bay Pine Villas, which lies on the far western edge of Pensacola, Florida. This is the only road offering ingress and egress to the community from State Route 98, a major east-west thoroughfare. Building in Bay Pine Villas, a combination of single-family homes and duplexes, began in the late 1990s and development remains ongoing.

Because the development of the community is not complete, this area still has plenty of wide-open spaces. Other than construction on Bay Pine Villa’s western edge, the area offers open woodland. A number of these moderately-sized homes become available for rent or long-term lease with some frequency. Blue Angels Elementary is the closest school.

Taking Route 98 west leads past the Ferguson Airport, a small aircraft facility. Approximately four miles further down the road lies Perdido Bay, a waterway shared with the neighboring state of Alabama. The Florida side of the bay is home to the Tarkiln Preserve State Park, a protected wildlife area that offers hiking and nature trails, as well as day-use picnic areas. Fly fishing is allowed on Tarkiln Bayou, inside the park.

South of Bay Pine Villas is the Bayou Grande, an arm of Pensacola Bay, and the Pensacola Naval Complex including Forrest Sherman Airfield. North of the neighborhood is the Osceola Municipal Golf Course, which has remained open since 1926.

Highway 98 to the east leads to the Naval Hospital of Pensacola, as well as to the closest malls. These popular shopping centers include the Navy Exchange Mall and the larger Southgate Shopping Center, both within four miles. Pensacola Jr. College’s Warrington Campus lies across from the latter mall. Also near Southgate is the 30-acre Lexington Terrace Park, which comes complete with an off-leash dog park and community center.
