Waterford Lakes North is a rather large, picturesque community of Orlando in the 32828 zip code. It’s bordered to the north by East Colonial Drive and to the south by Waterford Lakes Parkway. North Alafaya Trail serves as its western border, while Woodbury Road serves as its eastern border.

Although it’s primarily residential, The Waterford Lakes Town Center is adjacent the neighborhood to its south. The center offers popular shops like Target and a plethora of eateries and specialty stores.

It’s a great area for outdoor lovers. In addition to its tree-lined streets and sprawling, well-manicured lawns and yards, it’s near many local lakes and parks. The Lake Apopka Restoration Area, which includes its namesake lake, lies northwest of the neighborhood. Lake Jesup Conservation Area, Little Big Econ State Forest, Buck Lake Conservation Area, and the Saint Johns National Wildlife Refuge are to the northeast. Lake Kehoe, Lake Berge, Lake Rouse, Lake Tanner, and many smaller bodies of water are within a five to ten minute drive.

With its proximity to many local schools, Waterford Lakes North has its fair share of college students. The specialized Florida Technical College is a mile to the north, while the Barry University School of Adult and Continuing Education is a mile to the northwest. Strayer University, which offers many paths of study, is about the same distance to the north. The University of Central Florida is a five-minute drive to the north, and the much smaller Valencia Community College is only five minutes to the west.
