Mid-Westside Neighborhood

Mid-Westside is located just a few minutes north of Jacksonville, FL. This neighborhood is located in an urban section of Jacksonville. The access to downtown from here is extremely easy.

Shands Jacksonville Medical center is situated to the east of Mid-Westside. This medical center is the largest of the health facilities in Jacksonville. The Shands Medical Center is also home to one of the better medical internships in Florida and has an incredible children’s medicine department.

Mid-Westside has two parks within close proximity of its area. The first of these is Brentwood Park to the northeast. This park may not be the largest in Florida, but it definitely has the amenities to satisfy any resident in the community. Brentwood has picnic pavilions, baseball diamonds, walking/biking paths, and plenty of woods to give it a serene atmosphere. The second of these is Springfield Park, this park is a bit smaller than Brentwood, but offers all of the same services as Brentwood. You can fish at Springwood in the small streams there also.

Twenty minutes southeast of Mid-Westside is Evans Bank Field. The NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars play here every weekend during the football season. The Jacksonville jaguars have been playing here since 1996 and have had success over the years. This is a great source of entertainment for the residents of Jacksonville.

Mid-Westside is less than ten miles from St. Johns River that runs through Jacksonville. This river is a wonderful supply of things to do. If residents would like to take a tour of Jacksonville and all its history, they can ride on one of the paddle boat tours.
