The industrial community of Longbranch in Jacksonville, Florida, is part of an area known as Metro North. Longbranch is bounded on the west by Evergreen Avenue, on the east by the St. Johns River and on the north and south by the Cypress Lines railroad tracks and Tallyrand railroad tracks. It is located just to the north of the Marin Luther King Parkway, otherwise known as the MLK Expressway.

Like several nearby areas, Longbranch benefited greatly in its early days by the presence of the Jacksonville Traction Company, the largest streetcar system in Florida. However, in the second half of the 20th century, the community was negatively impacted by a weakening industrial presence and the expressway construction taking place in the area.

21st Street is the major commercial through street in the community and is also where most of the residential communities are located. Homes here are small along with the lot sizes. Many were built in the early to mid 1900s. Homes here are very affordable compared to nearby communities.

Kooker Park is the largest park in Longbranch. Many locals flock to this community park to play baseball, basketball or have a family picnic.

A possible plus for the community will be a proposed commuter rail corridor on the west side of Longbranch that will connect the community to Downtown and the airport. This would provide additional economic growth and revitalization for the area, as well as make the community more eco-friendly.
