Timucuan Preserve has more than 45,000 acres with different activities available to visitors. Hiking, camping, and wildlife watching are only a few of the many outdoor activities offered. Boating, canoeing, and kayaking are also available, with kayak and canoe rentals offered at Long Island Outfitters.

Jamestown is located in the 32218 zip code of Duval County. Public schools in the vicinity of the neighborhood include Louis Sheffield Elementary School, Oceanway Middle School, and First Coast High School. Highlands Branch Library is approximately five miles southwest of the community.

Residents are only a couple of miles east of convenient shopping options. Wal-Mart Supercenter and River City Marketplace are both located near Interstate 95. Just a few miles beyond this shopping area is the Jacksonville International Airport.
