Jacksonville Heights Neighborhood

The community of Jacksonville Heights is located just a short 15 minutes southwest of downtown Jacksonville. Arriving in Jacksonville Heights is like taking a step back to a simpler, country lifestyle only minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city. Jacksonville Heights is bordered on the north by Wilson Boulevard, County Road 213, and Noroad; on the south by 118th Street; on the west by Lambing Road; and on the east by Ricker Road. The main commercial throughway is 103rd Street, which runs through the center of the community. Restaurants, retail shops and medical care are easily accessible for residents.

Jacksonville Heights is located in Duval County School District. Schools that Jacksonville students attend include Gregory Drive Elementary, Oak Hill Elementary, Morse Avenue Elementary, Jacksonville Heights Elementary, Jefferson Davis Middle and Nathan B. Forrest High.

Parks in the area include Gregory Community Park and Wheat Field Park.

Herlong Airport lies just to the northwest of Jacksonville Heights. This public airport was first built during World War II for pilot training in the Navy and Air Force. The airport today is primarily a general aviation airport used for flight training, police aircraft, gliding, sky diving and air charters.
