Forest Trails Apartments for Rent

(hide neighborhood information)

Forest Trails is a semi-rural community north of Jacksonville in Duval County. Tucked between the Jacksonville International Airport to the east and the Thomas Creek Conservation Area to the west, the community is bordered by Dunn Avenue, Braddock Road, Lem Turner Road, and the 9A freeway.

The aptly-named neighborhood is surrounded by multiple trails and other recreational opportunities. Less than a mile from Dunn Avenue is the 50-acre Jacksonville Bethesda Park, a wooded preserve popular for camping, fishing, hiking, and picnicking. Three miles to the north, the Thomas Creek Conservation area offers access to hiking, hunting, wildlife viewing, and horseback riding. There are many more opportunities for recreation 16 miles to the north, at the peaceful Four Creeks State Forest.

Forest Trails also features more traditional types of recreation, from the Deefield Lakes Golf Club to the swimming pool, playground, basketball, and football facilities at Mallison Park and Center just next to Lake Bethseda. Nearby attractions include the Dinsmore Historical Museum, Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. For shopping and a bite to eat, locals head south across Dunn Avenue to Jackson Regional Mall, a large shopping center featuring chain restaurants and retailers like JC Penney, Winn Dixie, and Beall’s Outlet.

Forest Trails is home to many schools, including S.A. Hull Elementary, Dinsmore Elementary, Highlands Middle, William M. Raines High, and Ribault Senior High School. College students are just minutes away from campus at Florida State College’s School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality.

The Forest Trails region is growing fast thanks to its unique mix of outdoor and urban amenities.
