The Cooper Hill neighborhood in Jacksonville, Florida is made up mainly of ranch-type properties that were built in the 90s. The family-friendly community is located in a circular area and is surrounded by Cooper Lake Drive on the northwest side and Copper Creek Drive on the south and east. Dunn Avenue runs adjacent to the neighborhood on the north while Trout River Boulevard runs east and west on the south side of the community. The I-295 interstate system is situated south and west of the area.
Homes sites in the neighborhood are shaded and landscaped with Floridian vegetation, such as loblolly pines, laurel oaks, honeysuckles, black walnut trees, elms, beeches, and maples. The trees are habitats for a number of birds, such as titmice, vireos, cuckoos, bluebirds, cedar waxwings, wrens, and sparrows. In the warmer months of the year, residents enjoy colorful blossoms, such as those displayed by orange blossoms, pink carnations, and Peruvian lilies.
The neighborhood is located directly west of Lake Bethesda Park where locals often go for summer picnics and barbecues. This large natural site provides trails for walking and bird watching as well as an amply-stocked lake for those who like to fish. Fishermen often catch sight of canvasbacks, loons, and greater scaups, all which seemingly like to show off their diving expertise.
Residents in the neighborhood like the fact they are close to downtown via the interstate as well as a number of recreational spots that offer fishing, boating, and hiking. The area boasts a little over 800 residents, most of whom depend on a vehicle in order to commute or get around town.
