Riverlake Apartments for Rent

The focal point of the Riverlake neighborhood is a 32-acre man-made lake around which sit 150 lake front homes. Homes, apartments, and condo complexes fan out from the lake area until eventually the land ends along the curved bank of the Sacramento River. Garcia Bend Park sits on the southern end of Riverlake, offering a boat launch into the Sacramento River, regulation and bantam soccer fields, tennis courts, a tot lot, and picnic tables. A few blocks east is tiny Riverlake Park with its pathway to the Sacramento River’s jogging path.

Riverlake is a fairly new development with most homes built after 1970. Some of the newer properties, those built after 1995, are in gated communities that offer the utmost privacy. Riverlake still has room to grow and construction is ongoing. Homes have a nautical flavor, the streets have mature trees, and the area is pedestrian-friendly. The lake and river are within a few blocks of most neighborhood homes. Riverlake also has two mini-malls, offering 24-Hour Fitness, Bel Air Supermarket & Pharmacy, and a Blockbuster Video.

Riverlake schools include the Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary and Matsuyama Elementary Schools. John F. Kennedy High School is north of the neighborhood. The closest houses of worship are the Catholic St Anthony Church, Faith Presbyterian, and the Tongan Community Christian Center.

To the northeast are the Bing Maloney Golf Course, a local fixture since the 1950s, and the adjacent William Chorley Park. The latter offers a soccer field, picnic areas, and nature trails. Due north of the golf course is the Sacramento Executive Airport. Also to the north is Lake Greenhaven, another recreation area offering fishing, boating, and horseback riding.
