Living in established apartment communities along Highway 99, residents in the Parkway experience the convenience of carefree living. The highway is the link to destinations in and out of Sacramento. Residents have an easy commute to downtown Sacramento. Sacramento Regional Transit bus stops and a light rail station are also near the neighborhood.
Residents live in a casual and relaxed apartment atmosphere with natural landscaping but have all the benefits and amenities found in Sacramento. The neighborhood is minutes away from schools, work, shopping, and play.
Schools in the area are part of the Sacramento City Unified School District. The Kaiser South Sacramento Medical Center and Methodist Hospital are a quick trip south of the neighborhood.
College students commute to nearby Cosumnes River College, a community college offering associate degrees and transfer programs to four-year colleges and universities. Parkway is close to shopping centers and strip malls. Without leaving the neighborhood, residents can shop for items from supermarket staples to designer clothing.
Golf enthusiasts are close to two established Sacramento public golf courses. The Bing Mahoney Golf Course is a well-kept course that has served the community for more than 50 years. Its classic design attracts golfers of all levels. Considered one of the best-kept secrets of local golfers, Bing Mahoney has a nine-hole executive course and an 18-hole course. A driving range, chipping green, sand bunker, and putting area are part of the course.
The Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course is the newest course sponsored by the City of Sacramento. Built in 1995, it is nearly on the banks of the Sacramento River and was designed by golf architect Perry Dye. The 18-hole golf course has a cafe for casual dining and is also a site for weddings and receptions.
