Eastside Apartments for Rent
Situated south of Pacific Coast Highway and approximately three miles from downtown Long Beach, Eastside is contained on the west by Cherry Avenue. This neighborhood is mostly comprised of homes built before World War II. Bungalows and craftsman-style residences can be found alongside apartment buildings up to four stories tall.
While Eastside is an urban neighborhood, trees line the streets and parks can be found throughout. These include benches, and often playgrounds with swing sets and slides. Some popular parks are Rose Park and Orizaba Park, which are centrally located. The homes in the neighborhood, including apartment complexes, generally have enough outdoor space for entertaining. Other recreation options within Eastside include Bixby Village Golf Course on East 7th Street.
Retail businesses are scattered throughout the pedestrian-friendly community, with the heaviest concentration of shopping and dining along Pacific Coast Highway to the north. Stores are mainly grouped together in plazas. Streets along this side of the neighborhood include sidewalks and are wider than in the rest of the neighborhood. Residents of Eastside, Long Beach, can pay for parking at garages and designated areas, or park on the streets. Public garages are generally in the proximity of apartment buildings and condo units.
La Metro Transit Authority Blue Line has light rail stops all through the neighborhood, giving residents easy access to public transportation. Eastside also houses the Community Hospital of Long Beach. Just outside the eastern boundary of the community, California State University of Long Beach is a popular and convenient choice for college students.
