The Oro Valley Country Club brings first class golf tournaments to the Oro Valley. The awesome view of the beautiful Pusch Ridge area of the Catalina Mountains is why people move to the valley. It is bounded on the north by West Tangerine Road, on the west by North Vetch Road, on the East by North Sage Brook Road and on the south by West Copper Sky Drive. Local Schools are the Richard B Wilson K-8 school and Ironwood Ridge High school. Residents drive to Tangerine Road for shopping. The private Oro Valley Country Club’s greens, with a traditional 18-hole, 72-par course layout can be played six days a week, all year round. National tournaments such as the Spring 2011 Annual Golf Tournament for Susan G. Koman, are held on this popular course. Three categories of membership include Golf, Intermediate, and Social, allowing members to choose their level of involvement. With a new clubhouse, practice facility, fitness center, fine dining room, and junior golf and kid’s club, this facility has something to offer all age groups.
Multiple outdoor venues are available for family activities. The nearby 77-acre Honey Bee Canyon Park has hiking trails with water stations along the way and picnic sites. The Canada Del Oro Riverfront Park, just three miles south of Mira Vista, has special events and activities for families. This 30-acre park has a playground area, picnic tables, lighted soccer and softball fields, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, a walking path, and an equestrian path.
